The following was printed on Leslie Smolen's Hall of Fame Plaque:
Leslie Smolen was a distance runner and cross country standout for the Saints during the early to mid-1990s. She earned NAIA All-American honors with a fifth-place finish in the marathon at the 1994 NAIA Outdoor National Championships and a 4th place finish with the 1991-92 Distance Medley Relay team at the NAIA Indoor Championships. Smolen also finished 10th in the 10,000 meters at the 1993 NAIA Outdoor Championships.
At the conference level, Smolen captured six WHAC championships across indoor and outdoor competition and was a member of the Siena Heights distance medley relay team that set the school record in 1992. Her success extended into the classroom, where she earned NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors three times.
