The following was printed on Nichole Hughes' Hall of Fame Plaque:
Nichole Hughes was a two-sport student-athlete for the Saints, serving as an outside hitter for the volleyball team from 2008 to 2011 and a forward for the basketball team from 2008–09 through 2011–12.
Hughes was a standout both athletically and academically. She was a two-time Academic All-WHAC honoree in both volleyball and basketball and also earned NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors twice in each sport.
On the volleyball court, Hughes finished her career ranked second all-time in digs at SHU with 1,327. She also recorded 897 kills (fourth-most at the time), along with 90 blocks and 64 aces.
On the basketball court, Hughes graduated with the highest career field goal percentage in program history at the time, shooting 52.15%. She also pulled down 672 rebounds (sixth all-time upon graduation) and scored 934 career points, which ranked ninth in SHU history when she finished her career.
