ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights baseball team split a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference doubleheader with Aquinas on Sunday, dropping game one, 13-10, and winning game two, 4-3, at the SHU Baseball Diamond.
Trailing 3-1, the Saints rallied for a three-run sixth inning during the seven-inning nightcap. Eric Henderson smacked a sacrifice fly and then Dennis Sharp Jr. smacked a go-ahead two-run single as SHU (8-9, 2-2) took the lead for good.
Matt King pitched two scoreless innings in relief to earn the win, allowing one hit. Brent Vaccaro started on the hill, allowing three runs on two hits while recording two strikeouts and two walks.
Sharp batted 2-for-4 for Siena Heights. Curtis added a double.
The Saints took the game's first lead on a second-inning bases-loaded walk drawn by Dan Muller.
Aquinas came back with three scores in the fourth and held that 3-1 advantage until SHU's sixth.
Kenneth Hartger went 2-for-3, including a two-run single for Aquinas (9-8, 2-2). Colin Brand also drove in a run.
In the day's opener, SHU once held an 8-4 lead. Aquinas tied the game in the ninth and then scored three times in the 10th.
Mike Lollo (double), Joe Williams (double), Dan Muller (homer), Austin Hauck and Alec Duncan had two hits apiece in the loss. Muller and Williams scored two runs each. Hauck and Drew Byers had two-RBI games.
SHU had a pair of four-run innings -- the first and third frames -- to snag an 8-4 advantage.
Lollo and Williams had RBI doubles in the first while Hauck ripped an RBI single.
During the third, Hauck drew a bases-loaded walk and Byers ripped a two-run single.
Aquinas came back with three runs in the fourth before scoring singles runs during the fifth and sixth to take a 9-8 lead.
Muller blasted a game-tying home run, pulling SHU even at 9-all in the seventh. Sharp later had an RBI single in the inning as the home team took its final lead.
Ben Finn was credited as the losing pitcher for Siena. Travis Mielcarek threw 2 1/3 scoreless innings.
SHU will return to action on Wednesday with a WHAC doubleheader at Madonna.
