Siena Heights freshman baseball player Adam Wilding was named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) baseball player of the week by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Wilding went 16-21 on the week with a 0.762 batting average and a 1.143 slugging average on the six games the Saints played. He tallied 12 RBIs, 2 doubles, 3 triples, 5 walks, and 3 stolen bases. He also pitched in the game against Lawrence Tech on Saturday, March 13th. He pitched 3.0 innings and allowed five hits, three runs, and struck out 3 batters that helped lead the Saints to their third win of the season earning the win on the mound. He ranks 1st in the NAIA in Fielding Percentage (1.000), 2nd in the NAIA in Batting Average (0.710), 3rd in triples per game (0.273), 3rd in hits per game (2.000), 8th in slugging percentage (1.000), 13th in total triples (3), 24th in runs scored per game (1.455), and 42nd in total bases per game (2.818).
This is Adam's first WHAC player of the week award of his collegiate career and the first team's honor of the season.
Wilding will lead the Saints against Spring Arbor tomorrow, March 16th for a doubleheader that beings at 1:00 PM.
