Baseball Splits With #RV Indiana Tech

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights baseball team split a pair of games with Indiana Tech on Sunday. SHU fell 12-4 in the first game and won the second game 5-3.

The Saints will return to action on Wednesday, April 16, at Northwestern Ohio at 12 & 3 p.m. EDT. 

Game One: Indiana Tech 12, Siena Heights 4 

Gino Hutchinson led SHU offensively going 1-for-2 with two RBIs. 

SHU led 3-0 after the first after a wild pitch and a two RBI single from Hutchinson. 

In the second, Caden Gomes put SHU up 4-0 after an RBI, but Indiana Tech exploded plating six in the third, one in the sixth, and three in the seventh. 

Game Two: Siena Heights 5, Indiana Tech 3 

Jack Semler and Gino Hutchinson both recorded two hits for SHU. 

Andrew Baum got the start on the hill and was credited for the win allowing three runs off seven hits while striking out two batters. 

Guy Young got the save pitching in 3.2 innings allowing four hits with four strikeouts. 

The Warriors carried their momentum from the first game in the first two innings up 2-0 until SHU exploded with a four-run third inning. Semler recorded an RBI single followed by a two-RBI single from Landon DeVaney. Eric Reiling then tallied an RBI single to put SHU ahead for good. 

SHU plated one more run in the fifth with an RBI single from Nick Zito. Indiana Tech added one more run in the sixth.
