WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. -- The Siena Heights baseball team opened up its 2026 season with a three-game series at sixth-ranked Cumberlands, dropping game one Friday before falling twice on Saturday.
Game 1: Cumberlands (Ky.) 19, Siena Heights 0
Mac Melvin and Max Bledsoe had singles for SHU's two hits.
Game 2: Cumberlands (Ky.) 11, Siena Heights 1
Melvin went 2-for-2 with a stolen base. He doubles in the second inning and later scored to help SHU to a 1-0 lead.
Mason Baer added a 2-for-3 game.
Starting pitcher John Millen took a shutout into the fourth before the hosts took the lead with a two-run fourth. Millen had one strikeout over four innings.
Cumberlands added nine runs over the next two innings to pull away.
Game 3: Cumberlands (Ky.) 12, Siena Heights 2
Baer had another 2-for-3 game and Wyatt Burris doubled.
The Saints trailed 6-0 before playing two runs in the sixth. Cumberlands answered with six during its half of the sixth.
