ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights split a doubleheader with WHAC opponent Lourdes on Friday at McLaughlin Field. Individual recaps are below.
Game 1: Siena Heights 5, Lourdes 4 (7 innings)
The Saints rallied for three runs in the seventh, walking off the Gray Wolves on a two-run error.
A sac bunt by Mac Melvin was misplayed and Mason Mitchell and Mil Ramsey scored the final two runs.
Kaleb Woods batted 2-for-4 with a run. Mason Mitchell went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and RBI while Aidan Grinstead finished with a 2-for-3 game and RBI.
Dayton Stamper pitched the first six inning, fiving up three runs on six hits. Pearson Mendiuk worked the seventh to earn the win.
An RBI single by Grinstead pulled SHU into a 1-1 tie in the fourth and then Jaozef Del Rosario gave the Saints a 2-1 lead with a fifth-inning sac fly.
Lourdes gained a 3-2 lead in the sixth and then added on to go up 4-2 in the seventh.
An RBI single by Mitchell closed the gap to 4-3, setting the stage for Melvin's bunt. Ramsey scored from second and Mitchell scored from first.
Game 2: Lourdes 10, Siena Heights 3 (9 innings)
Lourdes took an early 4-0 lead and never trailed.
Del Rosario had an RBI single in the third.
SHU later trailed 7-1 before closing the deficit to 7-3 when Pablo Arnaud scored on a wild pitch and Jack Semler drove in a run.
