ADRIAN, Mich. -- Stone Beckwith and Christian Covile scored 17 points apiece as the Siena Heights men's basketball team used a quick start for its second straight win -- an 86-61 decision over Michigan-Dearborn.
Eric Cogan had a double-double, compiling 15 points and 12 rebounds, while Jamison Webster and Malachi Satterlee chipped in with 13 and 11 points, respectively. Satterlee also had eight rebounds, helping SHU (8-11, 4-7) to a 45-26 advantage on the boards.
The Saints scored the game's first eight points, getting four of those from Covile, and led the entire way. Later, the home team bridged an 11-point run across the two halves and jumped out to a 42-23 lead with 18:31 to go.
SHU's biggest lead was 80-50, courtesy of a 15-1 stretch in which Cogan put in seven points.
As a team, Siena Heights was 30 of 57 from the field (52.6 percent), but struggled from 3-point land (3 of 15).
The Wolverines (4-13, 2-8) were led by Brandon Cole, who had 11 points, and Dustin Sielski, who finished with nine points and five rebounds.
The Saints will return to action with an 8 p.m. WHAC contest against Aquinas on Wednesday. SHU is a half-game behind the Saints of Grand Rapids in the conference standings.
