SYLVANIA, Ohio -- The Siena Heights men's basketball team dropped a 57-52 decision to Lourdes (Ohio) in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference competition on Wednesday.

Christian Covile scored 14 points while Jamison Webster, Eric Cogan and Stone Beckwith put in 13, 11 and 10, respectively, for the Saints (11-18, 7-14). Cogan and Malachi Satterlee added five rebounds each.

After combining for 33 points in the first half, the Saints and Gray Wolves (15-14, 10-11) put up 76 during the second period.

Using a 6-0 run, including two baskets by Cogan, Siena Heights built its largest lead of the game -- 36-29 -- with 9:21 to go. From there, the host Wolves outscored SHU, 20-6, to gain its largest lead at 49-42 and held on the rest of the way.

On two occasions, Siena Heights trimmed its deficit to three during the final minute -- once on a pair of free throws by Webster and then a second time on a 3-pointer by Webster -- but never had the ball with a chance to tie.

Eric Worthey was Lourdes' leading scorer with 22 points. He went 14 of 15 from the free-throw line. Zach Steinmetz had a double-double worth 12 points and 13 rebounds.

The Saints will wrap up their season with a 3 p.m. contest at WHAC opponent Davenport on Saturday.
