The battle continued with baskets being traded back and forth until the wolverines created a gap of seven. Trying to gain momentum the Saints put up three layups, it wasn't until a dunk by Curtis Bell III that the team found its spark. UM-Dearborn fought hard to keep up with SHU even managing to swap leads late in the half. With a late kick, Siena put up seven points to take the lead leaving the half 46-40.

Starting off the second half a scoring drought hung over both teams for nearly two minutes until snapped by the wolverines Vyshonn Munson. The Saints answered by going on a short run of five and continued to hold the lead while UM-Dearborn trailed by only two possessions. SHU began to create spacing when a monster dunk by #23 Kevin Rice kicked the Saints into overdrive putting up 11 points in just under three minutes. Allowing for a few players from the bench to see court time and for senior Jay Kirby to hit a wide-open three to end the game Siena Heights 88- UM-Dearborn 72.
