The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) announced the 2021-22 WHAC Men's Golf Preseason Coaches Poll over the weekend. The Siena Heights men's golf team was chosen to finish exactly where they finished last season (sixth) in the poll.
The SHU men's golf team returns a veteran core for the upcoming season. Colin Duffy, Davis Longyear, Trent Moody, and Michael Rampe Jr. will look to lead the team to new heights this season.
The preseason poll is voted on by the coaches in the league who rank each team in the WHAC from 1-12. Twelve points are given to the team at the top of the list, 11 points to the second-ranked team, and so on to determine the order of the poll.
Reigning WHAC Champion Lawrence Tech claimed the top spot after receiving 10 first-place votes to total 142 points. Aquinas hopped into second by obtaining the final two first-place votes for 128 points. Last year's runner-up, Madonna, finished third with 120 points. UNOH was fourth with 109 points while Lourdes claimed fifth with 84 points. Siena Heights edged UM-Dearborn for sixth with 77 points. Cleary just missed out seventh place with 67 points. Indiana Tech fell to ninth with 50 points. Concordia (38 points), Cornerstone (32), and Rochester (21) rounded out the poll.
