GATLINBURG, Tenn. -- The Siena Heights men's lacrosse team opened its season with a 15-3 non-conference victory over Asbury (Ky.) at the Rocky Top Sports World on Friday.
Tom Kreitzer scored three goals for the Saints (1-0) while Spencer Macek contributed two goals and one assist.
Also for SHU, Shane Lewandowski, Danny Orr and John Holowaty tallied two goals apiece while Chris Acton, Brennen Gohr, Nick Lyons and Chris Batkins chipped in single goals.
Acton, Derek Martin and Stephen Bloxam added assists in support of winning goaltender Ryan Mailloux.
Mailloux stopped four shots during 45 minutes of action. Tyler Hooper and Drew Pointe split the final 15 minutes in the cage; Hooper had one save.
The Saint will return to action on Saturday with an 11 a.m. contest against Tennessee Wesleyan.
