GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Men's soccer earned a hard-fought 2-1 road win over WHAC conference opponent Cornerstone Wednesday night.
Gustavo Lira scored the first goal of the match in the 8th minute, unassisted. The rest of the first half would remain quiet on the scoring front; however, in the second half, Cornerstone would score quickly in the 46th minute. In the 79th minute, the Saints responded with a game-winning goal from Gustavo Famula, unassisted. Famula's first goal of the season.
The Saints' goalie, Yuriy Tukalevskyy, totaled five saves
Siena Heights outshot Cornerstone .18 to 17.
Siena Heights will return to action on the road against WHAC Conference opponent, UNOH, on Saturday, Oct. 11.
