ADRIAN, Mich. -- In their last regular season home game in program history, Men's soccer put on quite the show with a 2-1 upset victory over WHAC conference opponent, Lawrence Tech, Wednesday night.
In the first half of the match, the Saints found themselves in a defensive battle. Both teams had a few shots at the net, but nothing was getting past the goalies. It was not until the second half that Lawrence Tech would score the first points of the contest in the 56th minute. Siena Heights would respond a few moments later in the 62nd minute when Pedro Mattoso scored, unassisted. It looked as though the contest would end in a draw, but the Saints had other ideas. In the 89th minute of the match, Gustavo Famula would score the game-winning goal, assisted by Felipe dos Santos.
Siena's Goalie, Yuriy Tukalevskyy, totaled three saves
Siena Heights and Lawrence Tech both had 12 shots.
Siena Heights will conclude its regular season on the road, on Saturday, Oct. 22, against WHAC conference opponent Lourdes.
