ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Saint Xavier (Ill.) in an NAIA Great Lakes Division match on Saturday at the SHU Fieldhouse.

Gilius Blinstrubas had 13 kills while Gabriel Murley made 24 assists for the Saints, who lost by scores of 25-20, 25-12, and 28-26.

Luke Sagaert added eight digs for SHU (1-5, 0-4).

SHU and SXU played to 13 tie scores in the opening set before the visiting Cougars closed with a 6-1 run to win the set. In the second, Saint Xavier jumped ahead with a 5-1 stretch and never looked back.

Then, in the third, the squads battled through 15 tie scores. Saint Xavier snapped a 14-all tie with a five-point run, but the Saints eventually clawed their way back to 24-24 on a kill by Blinstrubas. A second straight kill by Blinstrubas put the Saints at set point, but then SXU ran off a 4-1 streak to win the match.

Justin Cousin had 12 kills to lead Saint Xavier (1-8, 1-2) while Sam Kull and Jacob Siska contributed nine and eight kills, respectively.

Sean Barry added four aces and Moises Lopez and Nick Piccirillo came through with five digs apiece. Siska also had four total blocks.

The Saints will play their next match on Tuesday when they visit Cincinnati Christian (Ohio).
