ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 match to 11th-ranked Cornerstone in WHAC action on Friday at the SHU Fieldhouse. Set scores were 25-22, 25-20, 25-19.
Daniel Rua had 11 kills and Jonathan Stovring finished with nine kills and three blocks for the Saints (11-12, 6-9).
Zak Tucker added 26 assists and Yeban Youn made eight digs. Payton Hastings and Dominic Rees totaled four and three blocks, respectively.
The teams battled through seven ties in the opening set -- the final one at 19-19 -- before the visiting Golden Eagles pulled away for a 1-0 match lead.
CU opened the second with a 7-1 run, never trailing in the set. SHU closed within two points on three occasions, but was unable to pull any closer.
The Saints opened the third with a 5-1 start. The Eagles answered and the set was tied seven different times. SHU led 17-16 before Cornerstone (22-6, 13-2) finished with a 9-2 stretch.
Siena Heights will finish its regular season Saturday with a 4 p.m. WHAC home match against Aquinas.
