Rau Wins Title, Four Saints Place at Bruce Dickey Open

ALMA, Mich. — Siena Heights wrestling earned four podium finishes, highlighted by a championship from 197‑pounder Brandon Rau, at the Bruce Dickey Open hosted by Alma College on Saturday.

Rau powered through the bracket with three bonus‑point victories, including a first‑period fall in the finals. After opening with a pin in 1:58, he added decision wins in the quarterfinals and semifinals before closing the day by sticking Grand Valley State's Benjamin Leece in just 1:03 to secure the title.

At 149 pounds, Jesus Aquino‑Morales delivered one of the tournament's strongest consolation runs, placing third after winning six straight matches in the wrestlebacks. Aquino‑Morales recorded five pins on the day, including avenging an opening‑round loss to Rochester's Dakota Quinlan with a fall in the consolation semifinals. He capped his podium finish with an 8–4 decision over Mott's Owen Miller.

In the lightweights, Randy Frailey finished as runner‑up at 133 pounds. After a first‑round bye, Frailey earned back‑to‑back decision wins to reach the finals before falling in a high‑scoring 16–11 match to Muskegon's Colin Kuhn.

At 125 pounds, Maliki Mosher claimed third place behind a pair of first‑period pins and a 6–2 decision in the medal match. Mosher opened the day with a fall in 1:28 and added another in the consolation semifinals.

Additional Saints earning top‑six finishes included Ty Biggart, who placed fifth at 133 with two pins, and Zerrick Thomas, who finished sixth at 165 after opening the tournament with a tech fall and an injury‑default victory.
