ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights softball team will be honored during halftime of the Siena Heights football game this Saturday, September 28. The Saints were crowned the 2019 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) softball tournament champions last May after three-straight victories in the WHAC tournament.
SHU finished the year with a 35-16 overall record and 16-6 conference mark and qualified for the NAIA tournament for the first time in 23 years. The Saints were led by 2019 WHAC Player of the Year Ashley Helmink and 2018 WHAC Pitcher of the Year Racquel Ward, both were selected First-Team All-WHAC. Helmink was also named an NAIA First-Team All-American.
The ceremony to honor the team will take place at halftime following the performance of the SHU Cheer & Dance squad and the Saint Marching Band at the game this weekend.
