Women's Hoops Finishes #22 in NAIA Rankings

The Siena Heights women's basketball team was listed as the 22nd-ranked squad in NAIA Division II, as announced by the national governing body on Wednesday.

The Saints (26-8) placed second in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference and then fell to College of the Ozarks (Mo.), 88-69, in the first round of the NAIA Division II Tournament.

Four seniors -- Sierra Calhoun, Alexxis Knannlein, Mackenzie Tomasik and Morgan Warfield -- peppered the program's record book on the single-game, single-season and career levels.

Sierra Calhoun

  • All-WHAC First Team
  • NAIA All-America Second Team
  • WBCA All-America Honorable Mention
  • School game-record 41 points in 95-87 overtime win in WHAC Tournament semifinals
  • Season-record 616 points, 214 field goals and 149 made free throws
  • Other season rankings: third in points per game (18.12), third in three-point percentage (.382) and tied for eighth in blocks (32)
  • Career-record 432 made free throws
  • Other career rankings: second in points (1,713), third in made field goals (376), fourth in free-throw percentage (.784), fourth in blocks (94), fifth in points per game (12.98), eighth in three-point percentage (.329), eighth in assists (264) and ninth in rebounds (582)

Alexxis Knannlein

  • Other season rankings: sixth in field-goal percentage (.557) and seventh in free-throw percentage (.791)

Mackenzie Tomasik

  • Third-highest three-point total (84), trailing only herself (106 and 88)
