This Week for SHU Women's Basketball

UPCOMING FOR SHU: Siena Heights returns home for two games this week, facing off with conference leader Indiana Tech, and then hosting their annual "Pink Game" on Saturday with Lawrence Tech.
 
HEAD COACH: Sue Syljebeck is in her 19th season as the head coach of the Saints women's basketball program. She is the program's winningest coach with a career record of 353-225. Syljebeck currently ranks 22nd on the NAIA Women's basketball active coach wins list. She will be assisted this year by Deb Ray, Sara Chrenko, Niesha Lowe, Mo Rammuny, Dan Brooks and Tee Watters.
 
INDIANA TECH: Indiana Tech has been either the regular season and/or WHAC tournament champions each of the last five seasons.  They are leading the WHAC with a 13-1 record, however, the Saints were the team to beat the Warriors on the road earlier this season.
 
LAWRENCE TECH: The Saints hold a 14-9 edge over Lawrence Tech in the history of the series.  The Blue Devils are coached by SHU alum, Grace Howrigon who starred for the Saints from 2010-2014 and still holds the school assist record.  SHU won the earlier game this season by a score of 72-55.
 
LAST TIME OUT:  Peyton Banks became the first Siena Heights women's basketball player to reach 2,000 career points in a career as the Saints defeated Madonna, 78-40, in WHAC action on Wednesday.  Sha'kyia Parker was Siena Heights' leading scorer with 17 points.
 
RECORD WATCH: Peyton Banks broke the SHU career scoring record on November 30th, surpassing Laura Panozzo's previous mark of 1,812.  She reached the 2,000 point plateau on January 25th.  Her 960 career rebounds are 139 away from the lead in that category, she surpassed the 900 rebound mark December 30th, and has now moved into 2nd place in the SHU record books.  Her 654 field goals are tied for 2nd place mark in SHU history.   Banks moved into 5th place in 3-pt FG last week and is two behind the 4th place total. 
 
Sha'kyia Parker surpassed the 1,000 point plateau on January 4th.  She has now moved into 10th place in the SHU record book with 1,110 points.  She sits 134 points back of the 9th place total in SHU history.  She was the 13th women's basketball player at Siena Heights to reach 1,000 points..  She has now moved into 3rd place in SHU history for career 3-point field goals, currently sitting at 182.  Her 485 3-pt field goal attempts place her in 5th place, 23 attempts behind the 4th place mark.
 
Allye Minor has 246 career assists, placing her just outside of a top ten mark in SHU history, only 6 assists back of the 10th place total.
