GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Siena Heights women's basketball team mounted a third-quarter rally but fell short against Aquinas, dropping an 85-66 decision Wednesday in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play.
The Saints (5-6, 4-4) trailed 37-24 at halftime before erupting for 28 points in the third quarter, shooting 78.6% from the field and 80% from beyond the arc. Ty'Veonna Davis fueled the surge with 11 points in the period, including a three-pointer and multiple drives to the basket. Lauren DeWolf added two triples as Siena Heights trimmed the deficit to single digits.
Davis finished with a team-high 24 points on 9-of-12 shooting, adding six rebounds, three assists and three steals. Kanyla Tyler scored 16 points and dished three assists, while DeWolf chipped in nine points. E'Moni Finch contributed a key three-pointer during the Saints' run.
