Women's Basketball Overpowers Cornerstone Behind Davis’ 28-Point Night

ADRIAN, Mich. — The Siena Heights women's basketball team used explosive first‑ and fourth‑quarter surges to pull away from Cornerstone on Wednesday night, earning an 87–76 WHAC victory at the SHU Fieldhouse.

Ty'Veonna Davis poured in a game‑high 28 points on 11‑of‑18 shooting, hitting a pair of threes and adding three assists and four steals to lead the Saints (7–9, 6–7). Siena Heights shot 49.3% from the field and outscored the Golden Eagles 28–18 in the opening period, seizing control early and never trailing.

Lauren DeWolf delivered a highly efficient 22 points, knocking down four threes while adding five rebounds, three steals, and two assists. Jam Thigpen added 16 points and seven rebounds, and Kanyla Tyler ran the offense with poise, finishing with 15 points, six assists, and five boards.

The Saints dominated the interior, piling up 54 points in the paint and converting 25 points off 15 Cornerstone turnovers. Siena Heights also out‑rebounded Cornerstone 33–30 and tallied 20 assists on 35 made baskets — one of their most complete offensive outings of the season.

After Cornerstone pulled within five early in the fourth, Siena Heights responded with a decisive run fueled by DeWolf and Thigpen, pushing the lead back into double digits. A late burst from Davis — including a pair of transition baskets — sealed the win.
