Richards Ties For Third at WHAC #4; Women's Golf Places Second in Team Scoring

PLYMOUTH, Mich. -- Andrea Richards tied for third individually, leading a quartet of Siena Heights women's golfers amongst the Top 12, as the Saints placed second at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference's fourth jamboree, which took place at The Golden Fox at Fox Hills. A total of 55 players from 10 teams competed.

Richards carded an 80 on the 5,909-yard, par-72 layout. Sydney Gossett also placed in the Top 10, shooting an 83 to tie for ninth.

Also scoring for Siena Heights, Andrea Rumler finished 11th with an 84 and Alyssa Fausneaucht tied for 12th with an 85.

Aquinas' Alicia Flood was medalist, finishing with a five-over 77.

As a team, the Saints scored a 332, finishing four strokes behind team winner Madonna (328) and two ahead of third-place Indiana Tech (334). SHU moved into third place in the WHAC standings.

Heading into the WHAC's final regular-season event -- the fifth jamboree, which SHU will host Oct. 11 at Lenawee Country Club -- Indiana Tech leads the field with a 1,292, and is followed, in order, by Madonna (1,293), Siena Heights (1,342), Lawrence Tech (1,349), Aquinas (1,385), Davenport (1,394), Northwestern Ohio (1,453), Lourdes (1,476), Cornerstone (1,707) and Concordia (inc.).

SHU will be in competition next at the Spring Arbor Fall Invitational, which will take place Friday at Cascades Golf Course in Jackson.
