Upcoming for Saints Women's Volleyball: The Saints have two conference matches this week. The first is at home against Cornerstone on Wednesday night. The second is on the road against Rochester. The match against the Warriors was rescheduled from Feb. 16.
Head Coach: Kim Berrington enters her sixth season as the head coach for the Saints. She is in her sixth season with the Saints with a record of 97-64 overall and 51-46 in the conference.
Protect This House: The saints are 59-30 at home since 2013. SHU hasn't started 2-0 at home for a season since 2018, that was also the last season the Saints had a 2-0 start to the season.
On the Road: The Saints have their first road contest of the 2020-21 season against Rochester on Friday. Infusion of Youth: Siena Heights is led by freshmen in several statistical categories. Samantha Getson leads the attack with 45 kills (2.65 k/s). Aubrey Bates leads in assists (148). She is also third in the WHAC in assists/set with 8.7.
The Saints have had four freshman play 37 sets so far this season. Bates has the most sets played with 17. Kinsey Wagner has played 11, Samantha Getson seven, and Cailynn Sullivan two.
Saint Debuts: Autumn Anderson and Katelyn Ferris also made their debuts for Siena Heights this season. Anderson led the team in their first match of the season and Ferris leads the team in blocks with 16.
Last Week Recap: Indiana Tech 3, SHU 0
The Saints fell to Indiana Tech Friday in conference action, 25-23, 25-16, 25-18. Aubrey Bates had 26 assists, Karsyn Wolf 11 assists, and Katelyn Ferris four blocks for SHU.
SHU 3, Lourdes 1
The Saints (3-1 overall, 3-1 WHAC) surged by Lourdes 3-1 Sunday in conference action, 14-25, 25-19, 25-23, 25-21. Aubrey Bates had 34 assists, 11 digs, and 10 kills, with Aline Marinelo adding 12 kills and Karsyn Wolf 11 digs for SHU.
Setting the Tone: Freshman setter Aubrey Bates achieved her first career triple-double (10 K, 34 A, 11 digs) in Sunday's win over Lourdes. The Saints are 3-0 this season as long as Bates records at least a double-double.
Series History: Cornerstone: This is the 64th meeting between the Saints and the Golden Eagles. Cornerstone owns a 43-20 advantage in the all-time series. The Golden Eagles have won the last 10 meetings. The last Siena Heights win over Cornerstone came in 2015.
Rochester: Siena Heights has never lost to Rochester in the first 12 meetings between the teams. The Saints have swept the Warriors in eight of those meetings.
