Upcoming for the Saints: The Siena Heights women's volleyball team wraps up the 2021 Spring season with two WHAC road matches. The first is on Thursday against Aquinas before a Saturday match at UM-Dearborn.
Head Coach: Kim Berrington enters her sixth season as the head coach for the Saints. She is in her sixth season with the Saints with a record of 102-70 overall and 56-52 in the conference.
On the Road: The Saints are 3-4 on the road for the season. Siena looks to turn around the trend of three-straight losses on the road, including two 3-0 defeats.
Infusion of Youth: Several freshmen have made their presence known on the court this season for the Saints. Samantha Getson leads all freshmen with 106 kills (2nd on team). Aubrey Bates is the pace-setter for the
Saints with a team-high 494 assists. She also leads the team in service assists with 31 and digs with 158; Getson is second with 25 aces.
The Saints have had six freshman play in 218 total sets so far this season. Bates has the most sets played among freshmen with 56. Getson has played in 49, Kinsey Wagner in 37, Payton Osborne in 36, Kadie Carsten in 23, and Cailynn Sullivan in 17.
Top in the WHAC: Aubrey Bates is 3rd in the WHAC in assists/set with 8.8. She is fourth in total assists with 494, sixth in service aces (31).
WHAC Standings: The Saints are in the fifth-spot of the league standings. With two matches remaining in the regular season, Siena can only obtain a 10-7, 8-9 at the worst. The Saints are looking to maintain their current position.
Last Week Recap: Lourdes 3, SHU 1
The Saints (7-6 overall, 7-6 WHAC) lost to Lourdes 3-1 Tuesday in conference action, 25-23, 25-19, 18-25, 25-22. Aubrey Bates had 40 assists, Janel Ruhlman 20 kills, and Payton Osborne 22 digs for SHU.
Cornerstone 3, SHU 0
The Saints fell to Cornerstone 3-0 Friday in conference action, 25-11, 25-22, 26-24. Aubrey Bates had 25 assists. Samantha Getson and Janel Ruhlman eight kills each for SHU.
SHU 3, Michigan-Dearborn 0
The Saints (8-7 overall, 8-7 WHAC) rolled to a 3-0 victory over Michigan-Dearborn Saturday in conference action, 25-19, 25-16, 25-13. Samantha Getson had nine kills and four aces, Aubrey Bates 32 assists, and Karsyn Wolf nine digs for SHU.
