ADRIAN, Mich. – Siena Heights junior setter Aubrey Bates was named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference women's volleyball setter of the week by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Bates completed the week with an impressive 11.78 assist/set. She currently ranks 2nd in the WHAC and 18th in the NAIA in that statistical category, with 9.73. The Grand Haven native averaged 35 assists per match last week as the Saints swept all three of their opponents and extended the current winning streak to four.
This week's award is the first WHAC player of the week award for the SHU women's volleyball program this year. In addition, it is the fourth WHAC setter of the week honor for Bates.
The Saints women's volleyball team returns to action on Wednesday, September 28, with a conference road contest against the University of Northwestern Ohio at 7:00 PM.
