SPRING ARBOR, Mich. — Siena Heights fell 89-53 on Tuesday afternoon in nonconference men's basketball, as host Spring Arbor used hot shooting to pull away in the second half.
The Saints (4-8) trailed 42-31 at halftime and couldn't slow the Cougars after the break, with Spring Arbor outscoring Siena Heights 47-22 over the final 20 minutes.
Siena Heights was led by Nick Sobush, Joshua Wilson and Jack Olis, who each finished with nine points. Sobush added two assists and a steal, Wilson chipped in two rebounds, and Olis posted five boards and four assists. Jasiah Rainey came off the bench to score eight with two offensive rebounds and a block.
The Saints shot 37.0 percent from the field and 27.3 percent from 3-point range, while going 7 of 11 at the line. Siena Heights totaled 27 rebounds (10 offensive) and 11 assists, with 21 bench points, 16 points in the paint, 10 points off turnovers and 9 second-chance points.
The Saints will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 3 at Aquinas.
