ADRIAN, Mich. — The Siena Heights men's basketball team built a 15-point first-half lead but couldn't hold off Lourdes, falling 67-63 in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matchup Saturday afternoon at the SHU Fieldhouse.
The Saints (4-11, 1-9) came out firing, shooting 55.6% in the opening half and taking a 35-22 advantage into the break. Nick Sobush led the early surge, scoring 14 of his team-high 20 points before halftime, including four 3-pointers. Jasiah Rainey added eight points and nine rebounds in the first half as Siena Heights dominated the glass and tempo.
Lourdes (13-3, 7-3) flipped the script after halftime, outscoring Siena Heights 45-28.
Joshua Wilson chipped in 13 points for Siena Heights, while Jack Olis added nine and Jonas Tester scored 11. The Saints finished at 43.4% from the field.
Siena Heights still had chances late, pulling within two at 61-59 on Olis' jumper with 2:04 remaining, but Lourdes answered with key free throws and clutch shooting to seal the win.
