DEFIANCE, Ohio — Jack Olis scored 31 points and Siena Heights shot nearly 70 percent in the second half to pull away for an 86–78 victory over Defiance College on Saturday at the Karl H. Weaner Center.
The Saints led 40–38 at halftime before opening the second half on an 8–0 run to take control. Olis accounted for six points in the spurt as Siena Heights built a 48–38 advantage less than three minutes into the half.
Siena Heights later stretched the margin to its largest lead at 12 points when George Kalatzis connected on a 3‑pointer with 10:33 remaining. Defiance responded with a push to cut the deficit to 65–60, but the Yellow Jackets were unable to get closer.
Olis finished 13‑of‑18 from the field and added six rebounds. Jonas Tester scored 20 points, going 8‑for‑8 from the free‑throw line, as the Saints improved to 7–13 overall and 3–11 in conference play.
Nick Sobush added 13 points and three assists for Siena Heights, while Kalatzis scored 10 off the bench. The Saints shot 56.6 percent from the field and converted 22 of 26 free throws.
