Women's Volleyball Wins in Four at UM-Dearborn

DEARBORN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's volleyball team earned its second consecutive win, taking a 3-1 victory over WHAC opponent Michigan-Dearborn on Friday. Set scores were 25-18, 24-26, 25-17, 28-26.

Devyne Eisenhauer led the SHU effort with 15 kills, 15 digs and five aces. Kate Noe and Bianca Hobson had 13 and nine kills, respectively.

In the assists department, Courtney Johnson made 19 and Mallory Johnson finished with 18. Mallory Johnson also had 12 digs and three aces.

Mya Krohn and Ella Swoish totaled 18 digs apiece. Sarai Villegas had five total blocks and Kadie Morse was in on four blocks.

The teams split the first two sets.

SHU won the first after trailing 4-2. The Saints took the lead with an 8-2 run and held through the first.

Siena Heights began the second set with a 4-1 start and led until the host Wolverines (2-11, 0-5) pulled into a 22-22 tie. UMD scored 6 of the final 8 points to win the set.

In the third, the Saints turned a 4-3 deficit into a 7-4 lead with a 4-0 run and led through the third to take a 2-1 match lead.

The fourth set featured 13 ties -- the final one at 26-all. SHU finished the set on a 4-1 charge; Eisenhauer had three kills and a block in that stretch.

Siena Heights (6-6, 2-2) will return to action Saturday with a 2 p.m. WHAC match at Madonna.
